August 15                Yogis of Tibet
As the 2008 Olympics in Beijing open, the world’s eyes are on China and the
Chinese government’s long standing extreme violence and oppression in Tibet.
This important film shares secret rituals that bring yogis into ascendant states of
being.  It is the Tibetan Yogis wish that these lessons of their culture do not die out
with them.  77 mins

October 3                The Haunting
Film Club host Betsy Burke’s absolute favorite ghost movie, impressive for its
Gothic images, spine-tingling suspense, and lack of violence.  Julie Harris stars in
the 1963 black & white cult classic of a group who investigates a large, eerie
mansion with a lurid history of insanity.

October 17                Night of The Living Dead
Richard Ricci, local film icon, will introduce this 1968  b & w cult classic which gave
shocking birth to the modern horror movie and spawned a new genre:  Zombie
Movies.  The story, in which the dead eat the living, also contains controversial
racial statements.  Ricci was instramental in the inception and production of the
film, and is the fist Zombie in history to be shot in the head!   Discussion with Ricci
to follow!
